Achieving High-Quality Provision in the Baby Room

A Pen Green Training Course – Saturday 30th August 10-1pm

Nurture the youngest minds with confidence, care and research-led expertise.

Join us for a transformative professional development experience designed to deepen your understanding of high-quality baby room practice. This course will equip you with practical strategies to support babies’ emotional wellbeing, reflect on your role as a key person, and create rich, responsive environments that lay the foundations for lifelong learning.

What you’ll gain:

  • Tools to strengthen relationships and attunement with babies using attachment and co-regulation theory
  • Confidence in designing emotionally containing and cognitively stimulating spaces for under-twos
  • A deeper understanding of your own pedagogic role, attitudes, and interactions
  • Skills in observing and interpreting baby learning using video reflection and the Leuven Scales
  • Approaches to working with two-year-old profiles and transitions in care

Core themes include:

  • Research-led baby room practice
  • Child development theory in action
  • Designing rich, responsive environments
  • Managing two-year-old profiles
  • Bridging theory and practice through relational pedagogy

Grounded in the work of Bowlby, Winnicott, Elfer, Trevarthen, and others, this course blends theory with reflective practice to help you foster security, agency, and joy for the youngest children.
