Early Years Networking Opportunities

Connect, share and learn together.

Our networks bring early years practitioners, childminders and leaders together to explore the issues that matter in everyday practice. They provide a supportive space to hear from others, share experiences, ask questions and reflect on what is happening in your own setting.

Led and shaped by practitioners and specialists, our networks respond to the needs and priorities of the early years sector across our Hub area. Whether you join regularly or come along because a particular topic is relevant to you, everyone is welcome.

Explore our current networks, including opportunities focused on speech, language and SEND, childminding, babies and the youngest children, leadership, supervision and Ofsted.

Current Networks

Ofsted Network

A supportive network for early years leaders and practitioners to build confidence and clarity around inspection. Sessions bring together the sector and inspectors, including Jude Simpson, Senior HMI, to explore what providers can expect before, during and after inspection, with a focus on professional dialogue, transparency and shared understanding.

Baby Room Network

A dedicated network for practitioners working with babies and children under two. Sessions focus on sensitive caregiving, routines, early communication and nurturing environments, offering space to reflect on practice and strengthen provision for our youngest children.

Speech and Language Network

A reflective network focused on strengthening early communication and language development. Led by Karen Royle, Speech and Language Therapist, sessions explore high-quality interactions, inclusive approaches and early identification of need, supporting practitioners to meet the diverse communication needs of young children.

Speech and Language Network for Childminders

This informal online network runs alongside our funded 1:1 speech and language consultations and is designed specifically to support childminders in developing confidence in children’s speech, language and communication, including inclusive approaches to supporting children with SEND.
