Our Childminder Partner and Early Years Stronger Practice Adviser

Katie has worked in the early years sector for over 15 years and has run her own childminding setting for the past eight, both independently and with a team of assistants.

She is passionate about childminders being recognised and valued as skilled early years professionals and supporting them to feel confident in the difference they make. Her particular interests include SEND, inclusive practice and children’s personal, social and emotional development.

Alongside her EYSPA role, Katie is an active strategic partner within the Hub, helping us shape and lead an offer that reflects the experiences, priorities and needs of childminders.

Our Early Years Stronger Practice Adviser programme includes dedicated support for eligible childminders.

Working alongside you, Katie can help you reflect on your practice, identify priorities and explore realistic approaches that work for your children, families and childminding setting.

Our dedicated Childminder Speech, Language & SEND Network provides a supportive and confidential space to discuss the communication and SEND challenges you are seeing in practice, share experiences with other childminders and explore practical strategies together.
