All on board!
We have noticed that some boys were very interested in trains and small world train tracks. They have spent a long time building elaborate train tracks in the nursery. They have enjoyed stories and nonfiction books about trains. We planned a trip on a real train for Teddy, Eddie, Oliver, Dylan and Noah, the boys, who are really passionate about trains and other forms of transport. We went on a minibus to Corby train station and we collected our tickets. Then we sat on our carriage. We looked through windows and commented on what we could see, like cars, bridges, roads, train tracks, wind turbines and lots of sheep.
Our train adventure was an amazing opportunity to learn about the world. We strongly believe that with trips out children feel more rooted in their local community and are more connected with their outside world. We know how important hands-on learning and interactive experience is, which is building on what the children already know and are interested in. Our trip also stimulated their curiosity, sparked lots of discussions and helped them to consolidate their learning. The trip was a fabulous opportunity to foster children’s social skills and boost their self confidence. All the boys were fantastic at following our instructions and respecting boundaries. We had a brilliant time. We would like to thank the whole train station team for making us so welcomed.
