Pen Green Centre for children and their families

Jeremy Corbyn visits Pen Green

On Friday 8th September we were visited by Labour Leader, Jeremy Corbyn. This was a great opportunity for us as, being the former secretariat of the All Party Parliamentary group for nurseries, we are passionate about making the Early Years and Early Years Education a more significant focus on the political stage. We wanted to use this unique opportunity to demonstrate the real importance of Children’s Centres – in a time of instability when funding cuts are causing many to have to close their doors – we had the chance to show that children’s centres aren’t only worth having, but they are a necessary part of local communities (particularly in communities that are considered to be disadvantaged).
