New Guest Blog for the Education Endowment Foundation: Building Trust with Parents at Pen Green

We’re delighted to share a new guest blog written by our Deputy Head, Felicity Dewsbery, for the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF). In this piece, Felicity explores how building strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers is central to our Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) strategy here at Pen Green.

Rooted in our longstanding commitment to relational pedagogy, the blog reflects on how we welcome families, listen closely, and work alongside parents as true partners in their child’s learning journey. This foundation of trust allows us to tailor EYPP-funded provision to the needs, strengths and aspirations of each individual family and child.

“It’s not just about what we do with the funding—but how we do it, and who we do it with.”

We’re proud to share our approach with the wider early years community and hope it offers inspiration for others working to create meaningful, family-centred EYPP strategies.
