Using Real Tools

Lots of children have recently been interested in connecting, junk modelling and block building to create wonderful masterpieces so we planned to use the glue gun this week. Martin, you patiently waited for your turn.  You listened to the safety instructions about where on the gun was hot and to be careful to not touch the glue as it’s very hot.  You selected the pieces you wanted to glue on and knew where you wanted to place the glue in order to create your construction.

Martin, you absolutely loved this activity.  Each time you placed something on you said “wow, look!”  You were so chuffed with your creation and you looked so happy and relaxed as you chatted away.  You spent a long time creating your masterpiece and when you were finished you carefully handed the glue gun over to the next person waiting and confidently told him the safety instructions that I had told you.  Pointing to the hot end of the gun you said “That’s very very hot. Be careful don’t burn your finger, don’t touch there ok”.

“Martin I just love how much your confidence has grown in nursery.”
