Course Overview
Our programme is a full level 3 qualification taught online from the Pen Green Centre for Children and Families.
Learners will have access to the experience of staff members currently working with children in the centre as well as bringing their own skills and experiences.
Once completed you will hold a nationally recognised, full and relevant qualification and can progress onto a Foundation Degree in Integrated Working with Children and their Families in the Early Years.
Placements are required to achieve this qualification. During placement, learners will need support from a professional within the work environment who will be required to complete professional development records.
Teaching
The course will be taught online using Microsoft Teams on Tuesday evenings during term time. Software and full instructions will be provided. The course is taught through ‘live learning sessions’, where students will have full interactions with tutors and fellow students.

Professional Development
Assessment methods will be co-ordinated to suit your individual needs. Methods range from written assignments, professional discussions and case studies, as well as oral questioning. An assessor will assess your practice through workplace observations.
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements are for applicants to hold GCSE English and maths A*- C. Functional Skills are also accepted as entry level qualifications.
We ask that you have at least one of these qualifications prior to starting on the course, with a view to complete the other by the end of your Level 3 qualification if applicable.
