Universal health services, such as antenatal and postnatal support from midwives and health visitors, are available at Pen Green. Some groups are available to drop-in, others by appointment or referral only. We also offer specialist health and mental health support through our Groupwork Programme, SEND provision, and Family Support Team.
All health services are coordinated through our Adult Infant Drop-in, and are led by qualified practitioners.
Come and weigh your baby with a member of our team. Available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, between 9am and 3pm.
All children and families in England and Wales are offered a development review between 2 and 2½. Families meet with a health visitor to review their child’s development, and if necessary, to discuss any concerns.
Health Visitor Drop-in (Baby Clinic)
A chance to meet with local health visitors for advice and guidance. This drop-in clinic runs on the last Thursday of each month at Pen Green and the second Tuesday of each month at Kingswood.
Meet with an early health practitioner who can offer advice and techniques to support your child’s sleep routine.
A drop-in support group in for breastfeeding mums. Get help and advice from the group leader, health practitioners and other mums in a relaxed, informal environment. Baby self-weigh is also available during this group. Toddlers and dads very welcome.
Getting Ahead of Postnatal Depression (GAP)*
A group for new mothers who are experiencing postnatal depression or distress. This is a closed, confidential group led by highly qualified staff who can offer you advice and guidance.
A group for women who are at least 20 weeks pregnant. This is an opportunity to share experiences of being pregnant, to get support with difficulties and challenges, to plan for the birth they want and to share the first few months of their relationship with their new baby.
