This course focuses on the current legislation regarding SEND, an in-depth consideration of The Children and Families Act 2014 (Part 3) and the Code of Practice 2017. Participants will be encouraged to access and read legislation directly, spend time considering practical implications and gain a depth of understanding about the rights of children in their care.

This course is suitable for all those working with young children, either in a school setting or early years environment.

The SEND reforms are robust in the expectations laid out for educational settings and local authorities in ensuring that children with SEND achieve the best possible educational outcomes.
