Pen Green Research BaseThe Pen Green Research Base was established in 1995. We decided to set up a dedicated centre for research and training in early years and we housed ourselves in a small building on site, with just a handful of staff. Today we have around 20 staff members working in a purpose built conference and professional development centre.
Our vision has always been for the research base to be an important resource for those working in the early years field, both inside and outside the UK. We are also a key resource for our own children’s centre and the other children’s centres within Corby.
By developing practitioner research within a children’s centre setting, and through training offered to both practitioners and parents we are able to help Pen Green and other children’s centres to constantly reflect on and review their practice. In doing so we are improving services for children and families and making a difference. |
