'In every small community there should be a service for children under 5 and their families. This service should honour the needs of young children and celebrate their existence. It should also support families, however, they are constituted within the community'
(Pen Green 1983)
We have continued to work for this vision throughout the past 25 years, providing high quality education with care for children and families in Corby.
Our Baby Nest, Nursery, and Creche provide education with care for children under 5 years, and After School Club and Holiday Playscheme for children from 4 -11years.
We offer family support and home visiting, health services, groupwork and community education opportunities - and a warm welcoming place to be.
Connections and friendships once made are frequently long-lasting and many lead on to parents becoming involved in the Centre as workers. Nearly 60% of the staff here at Pen Green began their connections with the centre as parents.
We welcome many visitors to the Centre each year and these come to us from all parts of the UK and around the world. We are proud of our reputation for leading outstanding practice. We consistently work to develop what we do and how we work to improve outcomes for children and families, and to meet the changing needs of the local community.
As you explore the website you will find details of individual journeys through the centre, as well as more detailed information about all our services, documentation and practice.
