The 'Project' Approach
Due to the resounding success of our 3 day courses, this year we have decided to put our energies into providing professional development opportunities designed to transform practice.
We know that when adults engage in learning over time with sufficient support and challenge, then amazing changes can take place for them and, also, within their teams. When whole teams are engaged in making small changes, those changes become more embedded and sustainable. So, this year, the professional development opportunities on offer by the Pen Green Research Team are in the  following forms:
  1. For individual or pairs of learners from a setting - 2 days with a 3rd day after 2-3 months with project work carried out in the setting between days 2 and 3 and the possibility of accreditation at Foundation and Master's levels
  2. Projects that Local Authorities or organisations can buy into that foster collaborative working and are ‘levers for change’
  3. Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses with intensive study blocks and outstanding tutor support

Our other focus for this year is Community Cohesion and we will be encouraging individuals, organisations and local authorities to present their work to their local community, users of the service and local politicians on a regular basis.
