I became interested in early learning through having my own children and being fascinated be their learning and development. I have three children, Tom, Hannah and Emily who are all teenagers now and I am still learning a lot from them!

I started working life as a nutritionist in remote community development projects overseas and then worked in health education where I learned a lot about working with adults. I have worked in Nursery and Primary schools as a teacher and am now located at the Pen Green Research Base. My research interests are: children’s learning and development and parental involvement in children’s learning through dialogue and video reflection.
