About the Pen Green Research Base
The Pen Green Research Base was established in 1995. We set up a dedicated centre for research and training in early years and were initially based in a small building on site, with just a handful of staff. Today we have around 20 staff members working in a purpose built conference and professional development centre. Our vision has always been for the Research Base to be an important resource for those working in the early years field, both inside and outside the UK.
As a practitioner research organisation within a thriving children's centre we offer an energising context for continuous professional development. Pen Green is a vibrant campus where integrated work with children and families has been going on for 28 years.
Our biggest strength as an organisation is that all our tutors have their roots in practice, and work intensively with the Pen Green Centre for Children and their Families as well as other children's centres across our region. Our tutors have experience of leading and managing children's centres, and early education and care settings.
