Masters DegreeThe MA in Integrated Provision for Children and Families with Early Years is an exciting collaborative venture between Leicester University, and Pen Green Research, Development and Training Base.


Key Features of the Programme

 
The MA in Integrated Provision for Children and Families is a part-time course. Completion takes 2 years 9 months and involves attendance at 3 x 5 day, plus 1 x 3 day and 1 x 2 day study blocks throughout the course. Participants are expected to attend all community learning experiences (the 20 study days).
 
The programme consists of a core curriculum of six modules, together with a dissertation. The course is based on a practitioner research approach, which means you will carry out considerable elements of the study in your own workplace.



Who is the course for?

 
The course is open to all those engaged in working directly with children and families or involved in Early Childhood Services, with appropriate qualifications and experience. Past students have come from a range of disciplines and most have worked in integrated settings and services including Nursery Schools, NNI’s, Sure Start local programmes, Children’s Centres, Social Work or Health Care Settings, extended schools, local authority early years divisions and FE/HE.

Entry Requirements

To apply for this course, you will need a degree or qualification in teaching, social work, health work or equivalent experience. We have a policy of open access; alternative qualifications or experience will be considered. If this applies to you, please include details with your application form. Please note that if you do not have a degree you may be asked to submit a marked assignment or a piece of written work of between 3,000 and 5,000 words as part of the selection process. This will relate to a relevant topic and will be assessed by tutors on the course team in order to establish your readiness for Masters level work.

 
 


Finance

 

The basic tuition fees for the entire course are £5,750, payable in instalments. If your employer or a third party is paying your fees, you will be required to provide documentary evidence of this at enrolment. The University will then invoice the payer directly.
