Two Day Courses

	Places to Learn, Places to Be A 2 day seminar which provides practitioners with the opportunity to: reflect on their current practice; develop their understanding of how to provide an enabling environment; explore the ways children learn using different concepts and frameworks; and consider the principles by which they work in relation to children and families.
	'Fitting not Flitting' Schema training This 2 day professional development opportunity enables you to explore your own practice and beliefs about schema theory and apply theory to practice. Participants will analyse video, photographic and written evidence to deepen their understanding of schema. They will learn how to use schemas in analysing children's deep cognitive and emotional interests and how to plan for their learning.
	Observation, Assessment & Documentation Learning Stories, Narrative Observations and Pedagogical Documentation – Ideas from Pen Green, Reggio and New Zealand This 2 day programme enables participants to reflect upon how and why they notice, recognise and respond to what children do. Using the frameworks for analysis and video reflection techniques used by Pen Green Nursery staff, participants explore how to determine what is significant in a child’s experience and how to support and document deep level learning.
	Children’s Centres’ Self Review and Evaluation Recent Ofsted reports on Sure Start Children’s Centres have emphasised the need to improve "the extent to which evaluation is used to shape and improve services and activities". This 2 day programme is designed to help develop the processes of evaluation used in your children’s centre.
